and nothing helps. I have been tested for thrush and STDs and isn't that either. I saw on a different site that you can be allergic to your own discharge! Read this similar question that was posted on NetDoctor. It suggests there may be a hormonal reason, although the lady who asked the question has the problem the week before you.

I know this may seem stupid - but do you iron the gusset part of the knickers.





a week before you come on - your body (hormones) is changing because the lining of the womb is about to come away - at this time down there can get sensitive, i used to have a similar problem, the doctor told me that a normal wash does not always kill bacteria - but the hot heat from the iron does. i use fem fresh wash for sanitation - and you can get it for sensitivity.

Anyway, u might want to get a papsmear or to Gynecologist to check you..you might be growing some kind of bacteria like Vaginitis..Its not an StD or anything, its something like a yeast infection. Alot of women get it..
Some woman leave the pubic hair alone and it can get tangled, smelly when you are coming close to your period. Why not cut back the hedge, this may keep it more cleaner longer and easier to manage. Try trim it as short as possible and even, make sure you sterilise the scissors and be care-full

i use femwash for the intimate area and it helps. soap can and perfume can irritant the area.

Can using aqueous cream bp when its past its use by date have side effects such as dry skin, itching etc?

A couple of days ago, I used some aqueous cream b.p on my face that I had been prescribed in 2006. I had had some rough skin and didn't think anything of using the cream since it had been prescribed for a dry rash on my arm previously and had cleared that up no problems. The day after I used the cream on my face I woke up with very dry skin, almost scaley, and its also very itchy. (AAGH). Its all over my face, and down my neck. Exactly where I used the cream, so I was wondering if it could have this effect, especially since youre meant to use it within 3 months of opening, and its been around 2 years. I'm hopefully going to see my doctor tomorrow, but its so hard to get an appointment. Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to walking around my college looking like ';The thing';. =(

aqueous cream is best used in the shower or bath mix it with the water then put it on ur face. its likely the foundation can cause dry skin if u use it too much u should use a hypoallergenic foundation it works better for ur skin.

Would that make the itching stop? Because I think I have a yeast infection, but I only have itching. So would that heal everything up? I'll eat yogurt, too!

You can rub it over the urethral opening but not actually inside the uretha. Plain yogurt (particularly active cultures) can also restore your natural pH balance if you run out of Monistat. Do NOT douche!!! You may also want to drink cranberry juice for urinary health and switch to cotton underwear in the meantime, until your symptoms clear. Cream is only for the outside.


You may need the Canesten with the pill thing that is inserted inside.


Ask someone at the pharmacy which would be best. Try washing with Summer's Eve and letting the air to it. Dont wear tight panties. You can also put plain yogurt in there. Sounds gross but you can dip a tampon in it and freeze and insert. Other idea would be to go to the doctors and get on antibiotics.
You need to see your doctor, unless it's a yeast infection that you've had and treated yourself before. I don't think the monistat will help outside your vag, try some hydrocortisone or benadryl cream. Benadryl is great for itching, take a 25mg tab (may cause drowsiness) and use some of the benadryl cream as well.

but the cream is inserted by a tube,


just the same as the vaginal pill .





Just go get the pills,


I've heard they work alot better .


once the 7 days or whatever you choose are up,

You should use the Monistat applicator, that'll place the cream ball inside to stop the infection. Use the cream on the outside. Eat yogurt with live active cultures in it. You'll be alright.


Don't put anything in your urethra unless it's done so by a doctor.
Go to Dr... they can give you a Rx for this one little pill that will take it away... Treat it cause if you don't it could develop into something worse.....





I tried the Yogurt thing... Doesn't work well.. and not very pleasant to deal with.... Seriously... Or.. you could try one of those Applicator 3 day things......
For a yeast infection you should see a doctor. I doubt antifungal cream would do much, and it may cause irritation.
They say plain yogurt works for inside.

My doctor apparently doesn't care about me. I am 10 weeks pregnant and developed a vaginal bacterial infection. He gave me a 1 dose treatment of Clindamycin cream to insert into the vagina. After I used it I developed fevers almost everyday after and then 1 week later developed severe vaginal itching. I VISITED MY DOCTOR THAT SAME DAY 1 week later. He said if there was something wrong with me it wasn't related and I should go to a general doctor (not him as he is OB/GYN), DESPITE the new vaginal itching.





That was yesterday and today I have green mucus in my stool. I know how to read. It clearly states that rare but potentially serious side effects of the clidamycin cream include vaginal itching, secondary infection, and mucus in your stool.





He will no longer be my doctor, but what should I do right now? It is Saturday and my lovely neighborhood ER refuses to advise on if you should be seen or not (I'm assuming to avoid lawsuits).

You could go to the ER or you could go to urgent care. Either way you will be able to see a doctor at least. Most of the time these side effects are not life threatning unless they say they are. I had to take that stuff before on my third pregnancy I developed a bacterial infection. You probably have a yeast infection. You should go to the store and get the vagisil or whatever brand it is for over the counter care.

I took the same cream for a bacterial infection of the vagina. After using it I did get a lil bit of vaginal itching and my OB was absolutely okay with advising me on treatment. I don't know why yours wouldn't be. Don't use my solution (he told me in some cases it can cause a yeast infection, which I got monistat 3 that comes with stuff like vagisil for itching).


I am almost positive you are having an allergic reaction to it. Go ahead and go to the ER. Most likely they will have an OB check you because this is in the area of expertise of an OB. Kudos on getting a new doc. I wouldn't put up with that if I were you either.

i know you won't like this answer but you shouldn't use the cream in you pelvic area if it makes you itch. it is very easy to get an infection because the area is dark and moist. (unless you always go naked and don't perspire), have you tried different creams? if so look for something organic. ( i doubt if there is an organic hair removal cream) do be careful. maybe you could ask a dermatologist for suggestions. hopefully one is reading your question.
